This is very wrong.
It’s not “The Family Guy”, it’s just “Family Guy”. If you’d properly watched the episode you’d know that it wasn’t Stephen Hawking who was depicted in the episode. It clearly had reference to him, as he was a physics lecturer with ALS, but the character wasn’t named as him. Similarly, his wife was shown to also have ALS for comic effect. The fact that she was called Helen was probably a coincidence.

Mrs. O’Reilly was also my 7th and 8th grade English teacher (1977 to 1979). If it weren’t for her unwavering strict discipline, my verbal abilities would not show any class or intelligence.

I was looking for a photograph, and came across this article. Having moved from San Francisco to Virginia (with three other states in between) with my former-military husband in the past fouteen years; I lost touch with virtually everyone with whom I had grown up.

This news about Mrs. O’Reilly’s passing has saddened me. I wish I had publicly recognized her impact in my life and thanked her sooner.

Unfortunately, your efforts described above directly contribute to the fact that MTC loses $1.4 Million+ each year in toll evasions. You passed through the toll both without paying and really should have coughed up the measly $40 (measly as compared to the $200 that you were expecting). Sure, you ended up paying the $5 toll in full but the cost to MTC to generate your violation notice, send you the violation notice, send you a delinquent violation notice, and process your dispute was far greater than $5.

Next time, rather than writing an elaborate 200 character lie to avoid your delinquency, why not just be honest and pay the violation fee?

Using a pair of pliers to help zip up the side panels makes it SOOOO much easier. I should have tried that sooner!

Alright.. but you have missed some details that can make it easier or even more of a bitch to put the top back up!
cuz if your latches in the front aren’t in properly.. they have poped out on me.. or how about the plastic ones on the side over the doors.. if they are tucked under and u don’t realise it.. it’s a bitch to undo the latches on the front when that plastic gets stuck.
also the back/side windows.. your 1-2 inches to do the zipper up… not working on my Jeep.. I can only zip mine JUST Far enough to keep the zipper in.. other wise i’m NOT getting the plastic in the grooves.
and ladies…. good luck on not breaking a nail! lol I dunno how many times I have broken or chipped my nails trying to do the zippers back up.. and when it’s cold grrrr..

But directions are alright.. but minor details u may want to change….
and with practice.. it gets easier! lol i’ve cut my time in about half..

Yes. This is one of the best songs ever. I heard it on the radio in my suburban bedroom at 16. Ex-girlfriends were having babies, the one’s I liked rejected me, dad was a pain, and I was blasting records screaming at the top of my lungs to purge and annoy. I wasn’t a 12″ guy and never could remember the title. So it was really just that one listen that stayed with me, “well even you hate those….” That was my favorite aside until Morrissey said “that’s nothing, you should hear me play piano!” Anyway was just inspired to look up that line (20+ years later!) and your post helped me find the title. Thanks.

I loved the fact that this year there were Asian runner ups that made it to the Top 15 category. I am also thankful that the Asian contestants were not stereotyped – they won in their own countries based on actual beauty and not by how the rest of the world perceives how Asians should look. Check out Miss Norway – absolutely beautiful! Miss Singapore, Miss Kazakhstan, Miss Thailand, Miss Korea, Miss Japan, Miss India, Miss Philippines, Miss Indonesia, etc.

My mom told me recently that my 7/8th grade English teacher had passed away. I was truly saddened when I heard the news about Mrs O’Reily. Were it not for her, my spoken and written language skills would be dismal. Words like “malevolent and acquiescence” wouldn’t be a part of my lexicon.

I grew up across the street from Mrs. O’Reily and had the benefit of knowing her as a neighbor as well as a teacher. When I did a google search of her name, I came across your blog. I just wanted to thank you for your dedication. Other than your post and the obituary on SFGate, I found nothing. A shame for a women who had such an impact on so many lives.

It’s interesting that a TV show filmed in NY with a skit about a famous actor that lives in NY would have Pacino banking with a company that (for the most part) doesn’t really exist on the east coast. Wells Fargo’s biggest presence is primarily Minnesota and California.

You wanna know what I found out recently?… 1 out of every 11 homes in the United States is financed through Wells Fargo. I’m assuming WF Home Mortgage. 1 out of 11… That’s huge.

I saw them right before school started on July 28 in San Anatonio, TX. Usually it is just unbelievably hot, but this was one of our cooler weeks. I always liked Journey, but I didn’t know if I would enjoy seeing them in concert. That is one show I am glad I got to see. It truly was awesome. But, my heart belongs to DL. The show was INCREDIBLE! I got to hear Let It Go live for the first time ever, which was sweet! It was the best show I have ever seen.

I watched “My Life…” yesterday. There is something wonderful about she doesn’t take anything too seriously or personally. ie. being hired for an Alka Seltzer buffet and then having people thinking that she worked for Alka Selzter. The advice she gave to aspiring comics was amazing. Everyone could learn something from her about financial planning. “I may be a D-List celebrity but I live in an A-List house, because of how I managed my money.”

Darius, you nailed it! It takes a jaded queer and a married hetero on a triple date with one *hot mess* of a fag hag to appreciate the surreally intellectual and erotic pleasure of watching a layered montage of ingenuously naive lesbian subtextual references in women in prison movies. Even the offensive, anti-feminist bits were ironically deflected by the ridiculous dialogue and overblown acting style that seemed to invite a mocking, satirical interpretation. i love how even the pre-war b&w movies featured the requisite lesbo stereotypes – a FTM butch dyke, an innocent heroine who becomes ferociously sexy once she leaves the world of men, an evil slutty femme fatale, and vehement rejection/hatred of men… as well as all the best of men’s prison films, too – gang rape, S & M games with the guards, rumbles with improvised weapons, love affairs, etc.
